We hadn't yet updated everyone, but Dan's surgery date is Nov 8, 2018. To recap: Surgery on Nov 8th will be made by a Vascular surgeon, and will be a de-bulking attempt on the tumor. Last year the tumor was growing from right kidney and up toward his heart in his inferior vena cava. This year it's growing down, and has begun to spread out into smaller veins. This resulted in blockage and a blood clot, which is how it was discovered back in July. Current med's haven't shown much improvement. After surgery, chemo med's will continue. Unlike last time, we can't hope to call Dan "cancel free" after the surgery, but hopefully the tumor has been cut down enough for the chemo to begin having a positive effect.
